CreditMyFlight helps you figure out which frequent flyer program to credit a flight to so you earn the most miles. Enter your route and airline, and the tool ranks your options by how many miles you’d actually earn.

How do I use it?

1. Select the airline operating your flight.
2. Enter your departure and arrival airports (start typing and pick from the autocomplete list).
3. If you’re flight is round trip, check the “Round Trip” box.
4. If you’re flying multiple segments, use “+ Add a connection” to add each leg of your trip.
5. Hit calculate. You’ll see a ranked list of frequent flyer programs, with the top pick highlighted as your best option for that flight.

It helps, but it’s not required. If you just want to compare distances between airports without picking an airline, leave the operating airline blank. 

Use the “+ Add a connection” button to add as many segments as your itinerary needs. CreditMyFlight calculates the distance for each leg separately, shows you a breakdown per segment, and previews your full route before you calculate.

Don’t forget to select “Round Trip” if your flight is round trip so that you can see the distance calculation for both ways.

Distances are calculated using the great-circle (as-the-crow-flies) distance between airports. That distance is then run against the crediting program’s published earning rate for the airline and fare class you selected, to estimate the miles you’d earn.

Note that mile estimates are calculated using publicly available earning charts. Always verify on the airline’s website before booking.

Some major programs (like Delta SkyMiles, United MileagePlus, and AAdvantage) calculate earning on their own-operated flights based on how much you spent, not distance flown. Where applicable, CreditMyFlight indicates the earning rate per dollar (or currency equivalent) spent.

Elite bonuses vary by program and by whether the flight is on the airline’s own metal or a partner airline. The tool notes where spend-based earning or elite bonuses may affect your actual total, but does not calculate an exact elite bonus.

The tool is designed to show the most mileage you can earn. Whether that’s the right choice also depends on whether you can move points here from your credit card. Compare with the alternatives list to find your best option for you.
